Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the knowledge and practices of Algerian farmers regarding risks or side effects associated with the use of plant protection products on the environment and human health. A study was conducted in the northwest region of Sétif with a sample of 15 farmers on the use of pesticides, showed that among the products used, insecticides occupy a predominant place followed by fungicides, and herbicides are weakly represented. The study shows that farmers use a fairly wide range of pesticides, with 12 trade names containing 10 active ingredients.
