Contribution à l'étude des argiles du gisement Sidi Ahmed Bounechada (commune de Medjana-W.Bourdj Bou Arreridj-Algérie): pour une utilisation optimale

Abstract

The clays are a mineral raw material for multiple use, the most important of which is the building materials industry. The objective of this work is the study of clays of Sidi Ahmed Bounachada deposit which is located about 16 Km north east of wilaya of Bordj Bou Arriredj,for a possible use in the red products (brick).the studies used ( geologic, chemical and mineralogical study) show that the deposit consists of an abandoned quarry and quarry in operation. The clay fraction in the quarry samples of Sidi Ahmed Bounachada is essentially silt-sandy. The clay materials studied are composed of several mineral oxides: SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3…etc. The high SiO2, content is when it is a passage to the sandstone formations; hereas the Al2O3content increases towards clay formations, .the mineralogical composition indicates that the clay of this deposit are essentially montmorilonito-kaolinito-illitic. The chemical, mineralogical and granolometric composition gives all the singularities of use the deposit as an exploitable zone for the red products manufacturing. , granulométrie.
