Abstract

A pharmaceutical calculation involves the use of mathematics and scientific principles to solve problems relating to the preparation, prescription and administration of medicines. In the hospital, these calculations are crucial to ensure that patients receive the appropriate doses of medication. In order to assess the skills of final-year pharmacy students in pharmaceutical calculations, as well as the importance of the training and tools available for these calculations. We conducted a survey using a questionnaire among pharmacy interns in the wilaya of Sétif, including 13 clinical cases rich in calculations. The results of our survey show that pharmacy students have observed or experienced situations where precise calculations are necessary, as almost all of them (98%) acknowledge that they need to use pharmaceutical calculations in their future daily pharmacy practice.
