Abstract

Today, around the world as in Algeria, air transport is emerging as a pillar of human, economic and territorial development. It promotes the mobility of populations, stimulates exchanges and strengthens openness to the outside world. In a context marked by the growth of air traffic and the rise of the city of Setif as an economic and urban hub, its airport reveals functional, spatial, and architectural limits that hinder its role as the gateway to the city. And this despite the work undertaken, the airport remains below ICAO standards, both in terms of capacity and quality of service and urban connectivity. This thesis therefore focuses on the need to rethink this infrastructure to make it a real lever for territorial development and attractiveness. The study aims to analyze the deficiencies of the terminal building and to propose a modern integrated architectural approach, reconciling functional performance, passenger comfort and sustainability. In accordance with ICAO standards, the project is part of a sustainable requalification approach, combining technological innovation, the use of intelligent materials and harmonious integration with existing structures in order to strengthen Setif's position in the national and international air network, to make its airport a real gateway that is both functional, emblematic and representative of the Setif territory, while contributing to promoting a modern and competitive urban image.
