Biomolecular production and condensates have become a central organizing principle in cell biology, reshaping our understanding of cellular architecture. Recent research reveals that production participate in a wide range of essential processes, including gene regulation, signal transduction, metabolism, macromolecular processing, and stress responses. Beyond basic biology, condensates are linked to human diseases such as neurodegeneration and cancer, as well as to climate-relevant processes like carbon fixation underscoring their broad significance. To fully comprehend how cells function, we must understand condensates; in turn, this knowledge will allow us to target or engineer them for therapeutic and environmental applications. The concepts of phase separation and condensation provide a powerful framework for studying this membrane less organelles, offering insights into how they organize biomolecules in space and time.
