Glass, a material ubiquitous in our daily and technological environment, continues to fascinate scientists and engineers due to the complexity of its properties and the diversity of its applications. This thesis deeply explores the mechanical properties of float glass, focusing on the influence of surface treatments, environmental conditions, and induced defects on its mechanical behavior. Understanding the mechanisms governing glass resistance and durability is crucial in various fields, from architecture to the automotive industry.
