Etude Géologique et Gîtologique du gisement de Pb, Zn et Cu de Boukhdema et El Maden Hammam Guergour wilaya de Sétif

Abstract

The Sétifan domain contains a number of Fe-Pb-Zn-Cu-Ba deposits hosted in dolomitic horizons of Jurassic, Lower Cretaceous and Miocene age. The Pb-Zn-Cu mineralization of economic interest is located in the Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous formation (Hauterivian, Barremian and incidentally Aptian). These mineralizations are localized preferentially within or at the limit of the subsidence platform - basin. Syn-sedimentary faults control the paleogeography and mineralization of the Bougdema-El Maden deposit; the karstification caused by the water coming from the basins to favor the setting up and the trapping of the mineralization. The mineralized bodies include : 1) - stratiform lenticular mineralization Pb-Zn and other accessory minerals. 2) - filling of cracks and fractures. The x-ray study shows the presence of high temperature minerals (Amphipole, pyroxene, epidote) in the circulation of the fluids that gave rise to this mineralization coming from the Tellian furrow further north. .
