Abstract

Macroeconomics is concerned with studying economic phenomena at the macro level, i.e., at the level of the entire country. This is achieved by examining economic activity in terms of its various components (consumption, investment, savings, etc.) and the parties involved in these activities and their interrelationships (households, businesses, government, and the rest of the world). It also involves measuring the levels and fluctuations of this activity to identify the most significant problems and obstacles hindering its development (unemployment, inflation, recession, etc.) and to find appropriate solutions through what is known as economic policy. This study is conducted within the framework of classical and Keynesian theory. This publication is a series of lectures in the Macroeconomics course (1 + 2) intended for second-year students in the common core program, specializing in Economics, Business, and Management Sciences. Its content has been aligned with the curriculum set by the supervising ministry. The aim is to present macroeconomics in simplified language, supported by illustrative examples and a practical exercise at the end of each lecture.
