Etude géologique, géotechnique et d’urbanisation du plan d’occupation du sol ( POS) intercommunal Mila-Ain Tine ( Marchau)

Abstract

The POS intercommunal Mila -Aine Tine is part of the locality of Marchau which is located south-east of the commune of Mila at about 4 km, at the foot of a hill called Bab Kssantina with altitudes between 1115 m and 1132 m . Geologically, the site is covered by Quaternary age formations represented by blocks and clumps of whitish limestone embedded in a red clay matrix. This matrix is marked by its mediocre geotechnical characteristics (plastic, ompressible and swelling).The POS site is exposed to various risks and natural hazards (ground movements) such as the phenomenon of creep and the solifluxion of clays, falling blocks, landslides and differential settlement knowing that some phenomena are not Controllable in the event of their appearance, in particular with the seismic activity experienced in the region recently. According to the results of the stability calculation by Geo-slope software, the safety coefficient is less than 1.5, which means that the site is unstable where the site overloads by the constructions and the elimination of the stop by the works Large-scale earthworks can cause landslides and reactivate old landslides causing enormous damage to buildings and residents. To this end, in order not to create unstable urban centers and to ensure the safety of goods and people, it is recommended to abandon the site and choose more stable areas subject to in-depth studies.
