Abstract
Introduction
The preparation of anticancer drugs is a topical concern in hospital pharmacies. The pharmacist
must set up an effective quality management system including the documentary system to ensure
the security of the circuit of these drugs. The objective of this work is to establish technical sheets
used for the evaluation of practices in the URCC of the CLCC of Setif and the edition of a
preparation guide.
Material and methods:
This is a descriptive retrospective study on a series of 769 preparations in the URCC of the
CLCC of Setif over a period of 37 days, using technical sheets and evaluation sheets analyzed by
descriptive statistics via EXCEL.
Results and discussion:
This study revealed that are labeling errors, and 0.25% collection errors which are the
most important from a clinical impact point of view, are reduced to 0 and 0.02% respectively
after pharmaceutical intervention. Cross contamination and pocket perforation are minimal
0.06% and 0.02 respectively but, they are irreversible leading to further preparation and
additional cost. The errors in the manufacturing sheet are 0.01% but always operator dependent.
The dilution errors are estimated at 9% of which more than 50% are due to a lack of availability
of the 250 ml solution. Their deviation from standards is insignificant. The overall patient error
rate is estimated to be 9.02%. Of which 9% are solutions a little more diluted than the standard.
Conclusion:
This work took stock of the weak points in the quality management system within the URCC of
the CLCC de Setif, which will improve practices through the creation of real document
management with the files. Techniques and guide established others, improvement of working
conditions (isolators) and the use of computer tools
