Abstract
Boutaleb is one of the principal mountains in the Eastern side of the Hodna chains. It stands North the setefianheightplateaus and South the Hodna basin. It rises between 980 and1886. It soil is limestoned. The bio-climate varies between semi-arid and sub-humid according to the height. Forest vegetation is dominated by cedrusatlantica, Pinushalepensis and Quercusrotundifolia.
The analysis of the floristic diversity has revealed the existence of 367 taxa which belong to 56 families and 226 genera. The number of taxa endemic is 32 and this of rare ane/or threatened plants is 37.
The dynamic study showed that the vegetation is heavily influenced by the intensity and the frequency factors of damage specially humans factors. Given its ecological and flora interest, Boutaleb is a forest estate that should be urgently protected for its conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity.
