Abstract

Indirect partial composite restorations are now the preferred option for treating medium to large tooth structure defects in vital and non-vital teeth. However, strict adherence to their indications, the choice of materials, the preparation shape adapted to the material, and mastery of adhesive techniques are essential for their successful placement and long-term stability. For a long time, their fabrication was associated with complex surgical procedures; therefore, the development of a surgical method where each step is meticulously described allows for reproducible and predictable results. They were once made of gold, but new aesthetic materials such as composite resins have emerged. Indeed, the different stages include setting up an operating field, preparing the tooth, taking an impression of this preparation, temporary filling, creating the prosthetic piece in the laboratory, molding, the bonding procedure and temporary placement while waiting for the creation of the final piece, checking the occlusion and then the finishing and polishing.
