| dc.description.abstract | Complications of diabetes are numerous and can have serious consequences, including death. However, all these complications are preventable with adequate management, it has become necessary for those patients to be assisted by a healthcare professional. As the pharmacist is often the closest, he holds a crucial position in the accompaniment of diabetic patients. This accompaniment includes an educational approach to treatment management, complications, and respect for hygiene and dietary rules to improve the health and quality of life of those patients. Our aim in this study is to evaluate the pharmaceutical accompaniment of type II diabetic patients. Our study is a descriptive survey conducted in the city of Setif. We interviewed 161 patients and 91 pharmacists using two separate questionnaires. Regarding the patients surveyed, 80% of them have a higher-than-average body mass index (overweight and obesity). Although the majority of patients did not develop complications related to diabetes, they still need advice. We found that negligence was a frequent cause of non-compliance with hygiene and dietary rules, even though most of the surveyed patients (55.28%) were aware of the complications related to diabetes. Regarding the pharmacists surveyed, more than half of them (51.65%) affirmed their participation in the screening of type 2 diabetes. In addition, 79.12% of the surveyed pharmacists recommend for diabetic patients to have their biological parameters regularly measured. Finally, 91.21% of pharmacists believe that diabetic patients trust pharmacists and seek information in pharmacy offices. In conclusion, the pharmacist is well positioned to intervene in teaching specific drug administration techniques and self-monitoring of the disease and its treatments. The accompaniment of diabetic patients should, therefore, be a priority for the community pharmacist, who can provide valuable and beneficial assistance to diabetic patients | |

Cependant, toutes ces complications sont évitables avec une prise en charge adéquate. Le patient ayant besoin d'une quantité importante d'informations pour gérer son diabète de manière optimale, il est essentiel qu'il soit aidé par un professionnel de santé. Le pharmacien étant souvent le plus proche, il joue un rôle crucial dans l'accompagnement des patients diabétiques. Cet accompagnement inclut une démarche éducative sur la gestion du traitement, des complications et le respect des règles hygiéno-diététiques pour améliorer la santé et la qualité de vie des patients. Notre mémoire a pour objectif d'évaluer l'accompagnement pharmaceutique des patients diabétiques de type II. Notre étude est une enquête descriptive menée dans la ville de Sétif. Nous avons interrogé 161 patients et 91 pharmaciens à l'aide de deux questionnaires distincts. Concernant les patients interrogés, 80% d'entre eux présentent un indice corporel supérieur à la moyenne (surpoids et obésité). Bien que la majorité des patients n'aient pas développé de complications liées au diabète, ils ont toujours besoin de conseils. Nous avons constaté que la négligence était une cause fréquente de non-respect des règles hygiéno-diététiques, même si la plupart des patients interrogés (55,28%) connaissaient les complications liées au diabète. Concernant les pharmaciens interrogés, plus de la moitié (51,65%) d'entre eux ont affirmé leur participation dans le dépistage du diabète de type II. De plus, 79,12% des pharmaciens interrogés recommandent régulièrement aux patients diabétiques de faire doser leurs paramètres biologiques. Enfin, 91,21% des pharmaciens pensent que les patients diabétiques font confiance aux pharmaciens et viennent chercher des informations dans les officines de pharmacie. En somme, le pharmacien est bien placé pour intervenir dans l'apprentissage des techniques particulières d'administration de médicaments et de l'auto-surveillance de la maladie et de ses traitements. L'accompagnement des patients diabétiques doit donc être une priorité pour le pharmacien d'officine, qui peut apporter une aide précieuse et bénéfique aux patients diabétiques. | |
