Méta-analyse sur l’HPV 16, HPV 18 et le cancer

Abstract

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is currently a major global public health concern due to its high prevalence and its established role in the development of several cancers. In this study, we conducted a meta-analysis to detect the viral genome of human papillomavirus in various samples using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique, which enables rapid detection with an error rate close to zero. Furthermore, through the analysis of several publications and research studies, we aimed to confirm the involvement of HPV in different types of cancers (cervical, upper digestive tract, breast, and eye) worldwide, as well as its epidemiology globally, and in Algeria in general. Indeed, according to our results, the predominant genotypes in the various analyzed cancer types are HPV16, 18, 6, and 11. Finally, we addressed disease prevention methods through screening (HPV test, biopsy, Pap smear) and vaccination (Cervarix and Gardasil) to raise awareness among the general population and especially among health authorities about the importance of these highly effective preventive measures, which help reduce the prevalence of these cancers.
