Abstract

The works presented in this thesis aim to solve navigation problems for autonomous unicycle mobile robots in static environments. In this context, it is about elaborating a fuzzy control strategy to follow trajectories planned by the fuzzy dynamic window, designing an optimal fuzzy control structure that allows the trajectory tracking in the absence and in the presence of obstacles and improving an ant colony algorithm for optimal path planning in grid maps. The dynamic window has been improved by adjusting the parameters of its objective function via a fuzzy controller and the resulting path has been followed by exploiting two fuzzy controllers, the first brings the mobile robot to the desired position and orientation, the second enhances the orientation. The parallel distributed compensation has been combined with the linear quadratic controller to ensure the trajectory tracking and a linear quadratic regulator has been employed as an obstacles avoidance controller by manipulating its weighting matrices using a fuzzy controller. The generated control signals have been merged by a fuzzy gain. The ant colony algorithm has been improved through four aspects: (i) introducing a stimulating probability into the transition rule, (ii) extending the heuristic information, (iii) adopting a new pheromone updating strategy and (iv) proposing a dynamic evaporation method.
