Quelles stratégies urbaines pour l’Algérie ?

Abstract

Nowadays, in the field of architecture and urban studies, "urban strategies" play an important part in the success of action programs on the city. For this purpose, any research has expected impacts on the theoretical and practical levels. Herein, it aims to understand the foundations and challenges of the city in order to better intervene in harmony with existing balances and consistent with processes that promote sustainable urban development. In the absence of shared urban strategies, Algeria is experiencing discomfort in the area of urban development, which is stressed by shortcomings in the decision-making tools and instruments currently in use; as the city's production accelerates, its management can no longer keep up. On the other hand, urban design provides an appropriate approach to the Algerian context to implement actions based on the foundation of urban democracy and sustainable development. The legislative reform in expectation, must allow the State and its decentralized services in the territories to ensure the missions of management, control and regulation of the practice concerning the right of the urbanism up to the scale related to the districts and plot. Only the modernization of management and action approaches in the territories is capable of achieving the expected results. Stakeholders’ involvement in what concerns them is simply the best way to get projects to the local level. Finally, the vision of things in this world changes and evolves according to new knowledge acquired and each new knowhow learned. This is how I received this conviction not to emphasize the contradictions as much as the complementarities offered by the aspects of life, because this is the way of sustainability.
