Abstract

The cell is the smallest form of life, the smallest coherent set of structures and vital functions. The cell can be defined as a "unit of life" capable of exhibiting the properties of a living being: nourishing itself, growing, and reproducing. All forms of life are composed of cells, and each cell contains within itself all the attributes of life.
