Abstract
Problematic: Glycoprotein receptor inhibitors IIb/IIIa represent a new class of powerful
intravenous anti-aggregant agents that block the final pathway common to platelet aggregation.
These products have demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in the treatment of acute coronary
syndrome and coronary angioplasty.
In the various studies. In this retrospective work, we report on the experience of the Setif
University Hospital Cardiology Department over a period from April 2018 to February 2019.
Objective: The purpose of our study is to evaluate the efficacy of anti-GP IIb/IIIa in the medium
term (30 days later) in the management of patients with acute coronary syndrome treated with
coronary angioplasty.
Methods: The study population consists of 49 patients divided into two groups ( Group 1: tirofiban
/heparin /DAPT and Group 2: heparin /DAPT with an average age of 55 and 60 respectively) 25
patients who received a coronary angioplasty procedure associated with tirofiban (bolus + infusion)
for acute coronary syndrome.( NSTEMI /STEMI).
Conclusion: The use of anti-GP IIb/IIIa is a valid therapeutic option in patients with acute coronary
syndrome. The adverse effects of anti-GP IIb/IIIa that may be observed encourage vigilance and
rigorous monitoring when these molecules are administered and a perfect knowledge of their
pharmacological properties for appropriate use.
