Abstract
This course material presents an up-to-date overview of Pathophysiology II. It is designed for second-year Master’s students specializing in cellular physiology and pathophysiology. This is the second of two volumes dedicated to pathophysiology. Continuing from the first volume, this work explores the etiological and pathogenic mechanisms underlying dysfunction in the body's major systems. Emphasis is placed on complex interactions at the cellular, molecular, and tissue levels. Organized into six distinct chapters, the material follows the course syllabus. The pathophysiological analysis centers on the following systemic areas: immune system disorders (examining immune response dysregulation); musculoskeletal and locomotor disorders; cardiovascular pathologies (focusing on ischemic heart disease and circulatory failure); reproductive system dysfunctions; pulmonary pathologies; and urogenital disorders. Each chapter provides a comprehensive approach to the pathologies discussed, using a pedagogical progression that systematically covers definitions, etiology, symptoms, diagnostic tools, and underlying pathophysiological mechanisms. Finally, this manual incorporates the latest advances in biomedical research and recent therapeutic innovations, offering Master’s students an up-to-date perspective on scientific knowledge in the field of pathophysiology.
