Abstract

Urban agriculture is an innovative alternative approach that is developing more and more in our cities thanks to the advancement of concrete. This trend would make it possible to reintegrate green spaces and agricultural practices into an urban environment without sacrificing their functionality. These urban agricultural spaces help to bring food production closer to centers of consumption, promote environmental sustainability and strengthen local food security and quality. Our choice fell on the town of Sétif to host our project for a mixed urban farm that reintroduces agriculture, the origin of the town. This type of project can offer an ecological and sustainable solution, because it allows us to strengthen nature and agriculture in the town and bring the places of production, consumption and sale closer together in order to reduce transport in a form of short circuit with the integration of new urban agriculture techniques. On the other hand, our urban farm will promote social and functional diversity, raise awareness among residents and re-establish social links around cultivated green spaces, thereby enhancing biodiversity.
