| dc.description.abstract | In our country, about 200 new cases of leukemia are diagnosed in children every year. The management of leukemia takes a significant place in dentistry because of the many oral manifestations that causes the disease, as well as the complications of its various therapeutic means. The dentist is expected to know the complications of treatments on denture and also the dental problems that can affect the smooth running of chemotherapy. The global care of the leukemic child, in collaboration with the medical team is very important to improve the quality of life of the child. Our role will therefore be to accompany the child before, during and after his cancer treatment, by giving oral hygiene advices, by providing preventive care and also giving out the necessary care. | |
| dc.description.sponsorship | Dans notre pays, environ 200 nouveaux cas de leucémies sont diagnostiqués chez les enfants chaque année. La prise en charge d’une leucémie préoccupe une place importante en médecine dentaire du fait des nombreuses manifestations buccales qu’engendre cette maladie, ainsi que les complications de ses différents moyens thérapeutiques. Le médecin dentiste est appelé à connaître les complications liées aux traitements sur la dentition et les problèmes dentaires qui peuvent avoir un impact sur le bon déroulement de la chimiothérapie. La prise en charge globale de l’enfant leucémique, en collaboration avec l’équipe médicale est très importante afin d’améliorer la qualité de vie de l’enfant. Notre rôle sera donc d’accompagner l’enfant avant, pendant et après son traitement anticancéreux, en donnant des conseils d’hygiène bucco-dentaire, en prodiguant des soins préventifs et en effectuant les soins nécessaires | |
