Abstract

Tuberculosis remains a major public Heath problem, causing a considerable number of deaths worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly a third of the world's population is infected with a latent form of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. A single-center retrospective study was conducted at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) de Sétif, covering a population of 22 patients diagnosed with tuberculosis. Data were collected using a form and analyzed using Excel. Our study shows the prevalence of different forms of tuberculosis as a function of age and sex, medical history, prescribed therapeutic treatment protocols and patient evolution profiles. At therapeutic doses, 13 patients developed adverse events, with a large number of adverse events reported, ranging from 1 to 5 per patient. The adverse effects observed were asthenia, anorexia, abdominal pain and hepatotoxicity. It is essential to emphasize the importance of regular patient monitoring to detect possible side effects early, as these can be serious and affect treatment tolerance.
