Abstract
Diabetes is a chronic disease associated with many challenges, including adjusting to a
new diagnosis, disease-related distress that threatens self-management, psychological
resistance to insulin, and fear of hypoglycemic episodes. In addition, various psychiatric
disorders can greatly complicate the assessment and treatment of diabetes. The majority
