La vulnérabilité à la pollution chimique des eaux souterraines de la région de Hassi Messaoud Wilaya de OUERGLA

Abstract

The Hassi Messaoud region located about 650 Km south-east of algeria , the hydrogeological study showed the existence of two aquifer systems ; Terminal complex and intercalary continental ; a,d which are compesed pf serval bodies of groundwater , this region is known to have an ever increasing petroleum activity . The inventory of pollution sources showed that in addition to drilling fluids (quagmires) , agricultural activity and wast related to the city’s urban developement they present a risk of pollution on the water of the complex terminal groundwater , its assessement showed that it is moderately vulnerable to pollution . on the other hand , the intercalated continental albian aquifer ) is vulnerable only in relation to injection fluids and excesive pumpi,g of these waters , which can further deteriorate the quality of its waters.the evaluation of the chemical quality of the ground water of the two aquifer systems (CT and CI) in relation to the different standars , shows that they are unfit for consumption regardless of potability or irrigation , failing a pre-treatment .
