Abstract
This thesis is for the study and the modeling of grounding systems. These systems are used to protect the electrical installations and equipments against the overvoltage. Many methods are used in the literature, an analysis and a synthesis of these methods was given. In this memory, the electromagnetic method was used through NEC-4 (Numerical Electrmagnetic Code) which is based on antenna’s theory. To facilitate the use of NEC-4, a graphical interface has been developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. The circuit approach method was used through ATP-EMTP which is based on lines’ theory to verify the results. A various factors influencing grounding systems response was investigated to evaluate the impulsionel performance.
