Abstract
The dissertation explores the industry 4.0 and delves into its key components such as the Internet of Things, simulation, Big Data, additive manufacturing, cloud computing, robotics, cybersecurity, and augmented/virtual reality. It also examines the digital transformation of metrology, focusing on digital calibration certificates, the digital representation of physical quantities and units of measurement, as well as the analysis of large data quantities. Furthermore, it explores advancements in sensor technologies for smart factories and industry 4.0. Lastly, it examines the revolutionary impact of digitization on calibration and the significance of contactless calibration. This dissertation provides a comprehensive overview of industry 4.0 and the digital transformation of metrology, highlighting the benefits and applications of these technological advancements.
