Abstract

The aim of thisthesisis to design a 4-point bendingdevice to evaluate the strength, stiffness and deformation of a material. This workcovers the generalities of the mechanicalproperties of materials, as well as the different types of bending. Wealsopresent the dimensions of the device's components and givegeneral information on mechanicalmanufacturing. For the sizing of the device, we have respected the strength condition, ensuringthat the maximum stress remainsbelow the permissible stress. Finally, weconcludethisworkwithamanufacturingstudyincludingmachining range tables and devicerealization. Wealsocarried out 4-point bending tests to check that the devicewasworkingproperly.
