Abstract
Our work focuses on the numerical simulation of the impact and post-impact behavior of a CFRP/Nomex® sandwich. The composite material CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) is combined with a Nomex® honeycomb core to form the sandwich structure.The experimental procedure is described, highlighting the impact tests performed on sandwich samples. Concerninig the mechanical beahavior in bending test ,The experimental results are compared with numerical simulations using a finite element model.The sandwich structure model, the material properties and the laws of behaviour are presented, to simulate the variation of stresses during impact. In addition, a finite element model for
post-impact tests is described.
