Abstract

Human ectoparasitoses represent a persistent public health problem in Algeria. This thesis aims to analyze the epidemiological, parasitological, and clinical aspects of these conditions through an in-depth bibliographic synthesis and a retrospective and prospective descriptive study. The practical study, conducted at the Parasitology-Mycology Laboratory of the Sétif University Hospital (CHU), involved 91 confirmed cases of ectoparasitoses over a period of 11 years and 5 months. It revealed the predominance of sarcoptic scabies, a marked involvement in young children, as well as a progressive increase in cases in recent years. The observed clinical manifestations, particularly cutaneous lesions and intra-familial contagion, are consistent with the data in the literature. This work emphasizes the need to strengthen early biological diagnosis, collective management, and prevention measures adapted to the local context
