Abstract

This study aimed to examine the contribution of health management to medical waste management in accordance with the principles of sustainable development through a case study of 50 employees from the Public Neighborhood Health Institution of Beni Ourtilane, representing different occupational levels. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to the study sample and analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), version 27. The findings revealed that health management contributes significantly to medical waste management in accordance with the principles of sustainable development at the Public Neighborhood Health Institution of Beni Ourtilane. The results also showed that health planning, health organization, health directing, and health control all contribute to improving medical waste management in line with sustainable development principles. Based on these findings, the study recommends strengthening the role of health management by improving planning, organization, directing, and control processes to enhance medical waste management and support the achievement of sustainable development goals.
