Abstract

Constantine, a millennium town and the capital of the east-Algeria, the old town have a riche patrimony preserved, classified in the ppsmvss contribute a multiplicity of architectural types between ottoman colonial and hybrid, RAHBET ESSOUF that situated in the heart of the old town “THE ROCK” « SOUK ETODJAR » this place have a multiply variety tissue, characterize with a commercial functions and with an physical patrimonial value materialized by it architectural types also an memorial patrimonial value immaterialized through the witnesses of the people that lives there “LA PLACE DES GALLETS”. For the project is a reconversion of the marketplace of the Rahbat that through the investigation it had been built in the same year and by the same materials as the tower of Eiffel in France had been (colonial period). The reconversion consist to make a resting space for women’s and children space too “cafeteria” (the space as much as a big space market for women’s). The soul of the project chowed in the structure and shape of the market as it is for that we’ve attempted to preserve the shape as it is, and revealed the structure to the users of the place.
