Abstract

This booklet is intended for students of economics and business sciences to understand the development of international trade theories and their role in explaining the global economy, particularly after World War II. Its significance lies in providing students with analytical tools to understand the causes and patterns of trade between countries, going beyond classical theories. The booklet addresses six main themes: the first focuses on the basic concepts of international trade; the second covers classical theories; the third deals with neoclassical theories; the fourth revolves around modern theories of international trade; the fifth examines the evolution of the boundaries of international trade; and finally, the sixth focuses on economic growth and modern international trade. This booklet provides students with a comprehensive framework to understand the benefits and costs of international trade, as well as the factors driving economic dynamics, thereby enhancing their analytical skills for making informed economic decisions at both national and international levels.
