Abstract
SGLT2 inhibitors have emerged as a promising therapeutic class, offering new perspectives in
the management and treatment of diabetes and heart failure.
Firstly, the main objective of our study is to describe the place of SGLT2 inhibitors (iSGLT2)
in the care and management of diabetic patients and those with heart failure. Secondly, our
subordinate objective is to present their therapeutic effects.
With the purpose of answering these objectives, we conducted a public survey questionnaire
addressed to diabetic and heart failure patients.
The results of our survey revealed that only 18.5% of our study population was taking an
iSGLT2, precisely "Dapagliflozin, 10 mg. ». For the therapeutic effects of this class of
medication, some of our results corresponded to the findings in the literature.
Finally, reimbursement for this class of medication has recently been introduced in Algeria
for certain categories of patients. This represents a significant advancement and an expansion
of the therapeutic arsenal for the treatment of diabetes and heart failure.
