Etude géologique et caractérisation mécanique des tufs calcaires - région entre W. Sétif et W. Mila

Abstract

Tufa limestone crusts are materials extracted from surficial Quaternary age, which occupy a relatively large area in Algeria in the semi-arid to arid regions. These are materials that are a great resource, successfully used in road building. his study fits into a general framework for the development of local materials in the region of Setif in the field of construction of the pavement. Our paper focuses on the exploitation of tuff region of El Eulma and Oued El Athmania for pplication in road constructions. The study of mechanical behavior results in tests of resistance to simple compression and indirect tensile test and triaxial mounting the material characteristic favors for use as backfill.
