Abstract
The region of Guelma makes the structural edifice of the Magrebide chain. It is essentially composed of three large geological complexes; (1) the post-aquifer domain presented by recent formations; (2) the set of pellicular allochthonous layers consisting mainly of medium Cretaceous marls that have been conveyed southward; and (3) the para-autochthonous front-country domain which includes the Constantinian neritic unit and the Unit of Sellaoua.
Geological, hydro-climatic and hydrogeological conditions show that water resources in the Guelma region are divided between surface and underground waters.The hydrochemical study made it possible to highlight the relationship, water-rock. In this context, seven samples were taken at different water points (six sources and one subterranean lake) in two periods; High and low waters (2016).The physicochemical analysis of the collected water was carried out on the basis of several parameters, notably related to electrical conductivity; The dissolved oxygen content; temperature; The PH; hardness ; The oxidation-reduction potential (Eh), as well as to the major and minor elements.
The results obtained from this study and the Piper, Stabler diagram showed the different chemical facies presented in the sampled waters and their qualities.The ACP as a tool for interpretation helped to identify the relevant parameters governing the mineralization of waters and those that could alter its quality and to identify the oxidizing or reducing conditions of the environment in which they occur.
