Evolution des Pratiques Professionnelles en Pharmacie d’Officine.

Abstract

Pharmaceutical management software has an interesting impact on professional practices in community pharmacy. They are designed to meet specific requirements and are generally used to improve operational efficiency and reduce errors encountered. The purpose of this study is to evaluate professional practices in community pharmacy and examine the software used. The survey is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted from February 2023 to May 2023. It targeted 80 independent pharmacies located in the geographical area of Sétif and its surroundings and the Wilaya of Bordj Bou Arreridj. The analysis of the data collected through an anonymous questionnaire revealed that the majority (87%) of pharmacies have software, with the most abundant software being CHIFA+ (30%), followed by XpertPharm and Inabex. Regarding usage, 96% do not encounter any difficulties due to their technical and computer knowledge. Among the mentioned features, barcode scanning is only absent in 10% of cases. The perception of the cost of pharmaceutical software is also an important aspect to consider, as the majority do not find it expensive compared to the benefits it provides, and 56% pay an annual subscription fee. As for drawbacks, 50% of pharmacies report encountering bugs, with some lacking options. In conclusion, pharmaceutical software plays an essential role in optimizing processes and pharmacy management. Their widespread adoption has improved the efficiency and accuracy of professional practices. However, it is crucial to continue developing user-friendly, affordable, and technically reliable software to meet the specific needs of healthcare professionals. With ongoing efforts in innovation and collaboration between software developers and users, pharmaceutical software has the potential to contribute to better medication management and increased quality of care in the field of pharmacy
