Abstract

In this paper, we conducted an intervention approach on a part of the old center of Algiers, in the purpose of improving and upgrading the built environment. We talk about restructuring the port/city cleavage that is evident in the case of Algies. This can be the ultimate opportunity for its upgrading. And given the importance of the heritage which remains the only witness of a long history between the different civilizations, we conducted a rehabilitation of the fishery which is one of the issues to preserve our heritage and to deal with the port/city cleavage.
