Etude Ethnobotanique de quelques plantes médicinales dans le traitement des troubles digestifs dans la région de Sétif

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the traditional use of medicinal plants in the treatment of digestive disorders in the Sétif region (Algeria). An ethnobotanical survey was conducted among the local population to identify the plant species used, the parts of the plants commonly employed, the methods of preparation, and the sociodemographic characteristics of the users. The study recorded 25 species from 12 botanical families, mainly lamiaceae, Apiaceae, and asteraceae. Infusions and decoctions were the most common preparation methods, with leaves being the most frequently used part. The findings highlight the continued importance of traditional phytotherapy practices and emphasize the need to preserve and scientifically valorize this ancestral knowledge.
