Abstract

Given the richness of the medina of Constantine cannot be that surprising, pushing us to go through urban analysis as a fundamental step. This leads us to the selection of a site that summarizes everything, culture, worship, trade, life. It is a place that reflects the high standard of the lifestyle of Constantine. It is Souk el Acer, a neighborhood that has a splendid heritage and deserves to be protected. By putting this action in consideration, this Souk must be considered as an investment in order to add more value to the medina as a heritage for future generation. The urban site analysis helped us to launch a process of intervention as a result of study of healthy examples on rehabilitation and intervention strategies in the souks and their immediate environment. The outcome of this study is to design of a new souk and the recreation of the Negrier place by harmonizing with his surroundings and reconciling with its mosque and madrsa.
