Abstract

Today, heritage is a complex reality that plays an important role in the life and developement of societies, it is the instrument of this back and forth between the present past an futur, it ymbolizes historical and cultural identities as well as memories that must be transmitted to futur generation . So this work aims to revalorize and relive the officers mess of Sétif . The work is done according to an approach that begins with the analysis and reading of historical downtown of Sétif for a better understanding of the context and its evolution . Then the detailed study of our object of study and the diagnosis of the state of place . These studies have enabled us to identify the alternatives and retained the necessary actions , which consist in preserving and safeguading this part of the colonial heritage .
