Abstract
Sandwich panels are increasingly used in engineering applications (aeronautics, automobiles, astronautical navigation, etc.), where high rigidity as well as lightness are important. To this end, these privileges have attracted the attention of many researchers.
The aim of the theme is to carry out an experimental study of the impact behavior of sandwich panels made with steel skins and a polyurethane foam core.
Impact is the study of the behavior of structures to dynamic shocks or the sensitivity of materials to high loading speeds. Impact resistance is one of the most important properties for a designer to examine and the most difficult to quantify.
The impact tests were carried out with a falling falling weight device (free fall) .For these impact tests, we varied the falling weight using different shapes of impactor, and also the thickness of the sandwich panel
