Enquête ethnobotanique des plantes utilisées dans le traitement de diabète dans la médecine traditionnelle de la région Sétif

Abstract

This theoretical study aims to provide an in-depth overview of medicinal plants used in traditional medicine for treating diabetes in the Sétif region of Algeria. The study relies on a comprehensive review of existing literature and previous research in the field of ethnobotany, with the goal of gathering and classifying accumulated knowledge regarding these plants of historical and cultural significance. The core of this study lies in determining the potential efficacy of these plants, not only based on their inherited traditional uses but also by linking them to active chemical components known for their antidiabetic properties. This analysis will allow for an understanding of the underlying biological mechanisms behind the therapeutic efficacy of these plants, thereby opening new avenues for pharmaceutical research
