Abstract

This thesis presents the geological and geotechnical investigation of a structure – it is the case of the viaduct of the city of Tizi N’Tleta on the the future highway which link the city of Aïn El Hammam with Draâ El Mizan. It is based on the geological, hydro characteristics climatological and geotechnics of the region of study. With a well distinguished geography. On the geological level, much of difficulties related to tectonics and the fracturing of the solid mass remain difficult to interpret. On the hydrological level, the hydrographic network is rather dense. The principal water ways of the area are represented by Oued Sebaou, Oued Bougdoura. The precipitations vary between 800 and 1200 mm a year. The geotechnical chapter has been reserved for the interpretation of the results of the ground classification tests, mechanical drilling and pressuremeter test by taking into consideration the following parameters:- The nature and the behavior of the grounds to define and justify the adopted technical solutions; The choice of the foundations was treated by taking in consideration the importance of the project without neglecting the bearing capacity of the ground and the probability of the risk of compressing. Recommendations were put forth with an aim of saving the project of any possibility related to the seismic risks and other natural risks ,
