Abstract

Addiction is a problem that affects the entire world because its prevalence continues to increase, and this increase has significantly impacted Algeria in recent years. Faced with this rise, Algeria is making great efforts and implementing legal and therapeutic measures to address this crisis. As for addicts, it is a sensitive and shameful issue for them, which makes them avoid disclosing it and taking the initiative for treatment. This leads to the marginalization of this group, which needs attention and treatment. To create effective care centers, our objective is to integrate appropriate architectural approaches to transform the care environment into a therapeutic tool. That's why the design of sensory structures is a crucial element of our project, ensuring effective and humane care for people struggling with addiction issues. They can recover without feeling sick, spending their time having fluent conversations with specialists and each other, as well as interacting with their family, which is an integral part of the treatment. In addition to "learning a new passion" or hobby. To achieve these objectives, we will work on the role of architecture in the recovery journey from addiction, which begins with medical treatment, followed by psychological care, and finally with rehabilitation in society and awareness, all of which will be implemented through a detoxification refuge in Sétif.
