The recent Covid-19 Pandemic has had a severe impact on the profession of pharmacists, who have played a major role in dealing with this pandemic, a multitude of studies have looked into Covid-19. However, few or no studies have focused on the impact of this health crisis on the pharmaceutical field and more specifically on drug dispensing. The purpose of this study is to study the impact of covid on drug dispensing. 98 pharmacies located in the geographical area of M'sila and its surroundings and Setif. Analysis of the data collected using a 36-question questionnaire showed that a major shortage affected pharmacies, 98% had reported a shortage of stock, among them 100% had a shortage for Lovenox, due to a significant drop in imports; 88% of our pharmacists noted a drop in imports. We also noted a considerable increase in self-medication The proportion of pharmacists having observed an upward trend in self-medication was 89%; and consequently a mass purchase of drugs, 87% of pharmacies had dealt with a overconsumption, which explains why 76% of pharmacists preferred to ration drugs as a response to overconsumption. Note also that 95% of pharmacists reported that patients trusted their advice more. Hygiene measures were well respected; 100% of pharmacies have reorganized their premises in such a way as to avoid direct contact and contamination, 98% claimed to have made the means of protection available to the teams. Economically speaking; The results of our study show that 64% of pharmacists felt that their profits had increased, however 31% reported a decrease in it. In view of the results obtained, we cannot deny the fragility of the Algerian health system, it is time to put in place profound changes to improve our health system and more precisely pharmaceutical to avoid such a disaster in the event of a new health crisis.
