Abstract

Herbal medicines occupy an important place in the officina. They have been used for centuries in many medical traditions around the world, and more and more people are turning to herbal remedies because of their natural origin and potential for treating diseases. Herbal medicines must be regulated and meet specific quality and efficacy standards before they are placed on the market. In order to know the place of herbal medicines in the oficcina and the consumption of these by the population of the region of Setif and bordjBouArreridj, an ethnobotanical survey is carried out using a questionnaire that has collected information on the use of herbal medicine. The results of these studies have shown that herbal medicines are often perceived as being milder and having fewer side effects. In the pharmacy, herbal medications are used to treat a variety of common disorders such as digestive disorders, sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, skin conditions, joint pain, infections and many more. They can be prescribed as a drug in its own right or recommended as a complement to other conventional treatments.
