Abstract

Work is considered a necessity that humans must perform or are forced to perform to satisfy their needs by modifying their environment. Over time, work methods and places have evolved significantly, with the emergence of new forms and new workplaces, particularly after the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, such as self-employment and teleworking. Algeria has supported this with laws and mechanisms encouraging innovation and creativity, which has contributed to the emergence of startups. In this project, we will study these new forms of work in order to design workspaces adapted to their nature. First, by studying the evolution of workplaces throughout history, we explored the concepts related to each type of workspace, analyzing examples in contexts identical to our project. To bring our project to fruition, we conducted a survey to find out people's opinions on this type of working method and the spaces allocated to it. Our coworking project, called Cortex, is inspired by the way the human brain functions, where each region has expertise while remaining interconnected to encourage cooperation and the generation of ideas. The goal is to create a cleverly linked, flexible, and stimulating environment that maximizes productivity, teamwork, and well-being, thus promoting the exchange of ideas between users and their collaboration.
