Abstract

The study focuses on the rehabilitation and revitalization of the historic center of Sétif, Algeria, emphasizing the crucial importance of preserving the heritage, particularly El Harat, as heritage constitutes a tangible link to our history and culture, offering continuity between the past, present, and future. It begins with an in-depth exploration of the historical and cultural context of the city, highlighting the richness of its architectural heritage and the contemporary challenges it faces, such as the degradation of historical buildings constraints. The study then analyzes in detail the strategies implemented for the preservation and renovation of urban heritage, including initiatives for conserving historical structures, urban rehabilitation projects, and the involvement of local actors specifically the architects.
