Etude d'une retrospective historique de l'habitat : le bati residentiel traditionnel du vieux Mila comme reference dans la production de l'habitat

Abstract

From the hypothesis that considers architecture as the reference model of culture and knowledge of a given society, we believe that traditional residential building as a heritage of the past must be continually reassessed and reinterpreted; it will be useful only if it is constantly recognized. Considering the city of Mila as an empirical focus of this study, it will be important to find a process that would be able to assimilate potentialities of the residential built heritage within its evolution perspective and to define its forms of transition. So we tried through this research to analyze morphology and typology of the traditional domestic space in particular and architectural space in general, which is apprehended as an object of knowledge with social specificities. The implications of this approach take place in a contribution to the production of suitable habitat in the Algerian context from a social, cultural and economic point of view.
