Reussir Les Restaurations Proximales

Abstract

The interdental zone is a key region for maintaining the balance of inter- and intra-arch relationships. Preserving its integrity and restoring it according to the required specifications is a surgical imperative. The number of pathological conditions that can develop in the interdental septum calls into question the position and quality of proximal coronal fillings. These proximal restorations will indeed be replaced, either due to a new pathology or because of a technical or functional failure. This thesis lists the diagnostic tools, instruments, materials, and procedures that allow for the reconstruction and restoration of the interdental contact point to a physiologically healthy state. From circumferential metal matrices to translucent interdental wedges, from amalgam to composites, from extensive cavities to tunneled cavities, the range of solutions is broad. CLASSIFICATION SECTION: CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY / ENDODONTICS KEYWORDS: Interdental zone, proximal restoration, interdental contact point, circumferential matrix, tunneled cavity.
